Meet Carlos Maury
A career spent inside the system
Carlos E. Maury served as a U.S. Immigration Judge at the Van Nuys Immigration Court, appointed by Attorney General Eric Holder and beginning to hear cases in 2015. Before the bench, he spent more than a decade with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Los Angeles — rising to deputy chief counsel — and earlier served as district counsel with the former Immigration and Naturalization Service in Miami, and as a public defender in Florida.
That all-angles experience shapes how the firm works today: we understand how immigration decisions are actually made, what persuades, and what real preparation looks like when a person's future is on the line.
