The court is in Room 1060 of the Earle Cabell Federal Building, whose main entrance is on Commerce Street in downtown Dallas's government district, between Griffin Street and Houston Street near the West End and Dealey Plaza.
DART light rail's Akard station (Red, Blue, Green and Orange Lines) is about a seven-minute walk, and the West End station is also nearby. Paid garages and metered street parking surround the block; there is no dedicated court lot.
The Earle Cabell Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, completed in 1971 to a design by architect George Dahl and named for a former Dallas mayor, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2023.
Dallas is the seat of Dallas County and the anchor of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Its court carries one of Texas's busiest dockets and sits within the Fifth Circuit.
