About This Court
Location and building details from public sources. Operational details are confirmed with the court — call (213) 769-0050.
The court is in Suite 4240 of the Edward J. Schwartz Federal Building at 880 Front Street, in downtown San Diego's federal complex — on Front Street between West Broadway and West F Street, near the Civic Center.
The Civic Center Trolley station (Blue, Orange and Silver Lines) is about a five-minute walk on C Street. There is no public parking in the building; metered street parking and commercial lots are nearby.
The Edward J. Schwartz Federal Building, named for U.S. District Judge Edward J. Schwartz, is a large federal building of roughly 895,000 square feet that also houses ICE and IRS offices.
San Diego is California's southern border city. This downtown court hears non-detained cases — the detained Otay Mesa court is separate — and sits within the Ninth Circuit.
